The Feels Foundation's TF9: Now + Later Art Showcase
It’s been a while since I’ve had the chance to paint personally. This recent art show offered the perfect opportunity to dive deep into some of the ideas I’ve been exploring in my larger murals over the past few years, while also incorporating a few new concepts. Over the past few months, I completed four paintings, each telling its own story through an animal, a color palette, and a narrative.
“Bipolar,” my favorite of the bunch, features a polar bear in icy turquoise hues, wrapped in flames. It speaks to the urgent threat these animals face due to climate change and the scarcity of food—an ever-present danger in our changing world.
The event itself was truly beautiful. I had the chance to reconnect with old friends I hadn’t seen since college. In Seattle’s art community, we all know each other in some way—whether through social media or word of mouth—but being able to come together in person for such a gorgeous event felt like a testament to the healing we’ve all done as a community.
A huge thank you to The Feels team, especially Tori, Jackie, Gennette, and Lex. You all are a Northstar for our youth, giving them the tools they need to bring what’s in their hearts into the world.
Proceeds from this event went to the Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network.
Sending you all love,
